It is the most formal act of the fiestas and one of the few occasions in the year when the Royal Standard is carried through the streets of La Laguna.

It is the institutional act of the Día del Cristo and the most protocol-bound of the whole programme. At 10:45, on the Cathedral square, it continues with the reception of the official representation of the King. It is watched from the street, with no ticket, and the route runs through the historic centre between the town hall and the Cathedral, which are a few minutes apart on foot.
