Peter Shub: Stand up and fall downverified
Peter Shub, a clown and actor born in Philadelphia in 1957, brings Stand up and fall down, a show of gestural humour and physical comedy, to Teatro Cine Realejos. Winner of the Silver Clown Award at the Monte Carlo International Circus Festival and of the Jury Prize at the Cannes International Theatre Festival, he has worked with Cirque du Soleil, Circus Roncalli and the Big Apple Circus.
Peter Shub comes to Los Realejos with Stand up and fall down, a show of gestural humour and physical comedy. Born in Philadelphia in 1957, he has built an international career as an actor and independent director, working with RTL Samstag Nacht Comedy, the Cologne comedy school and the Philadelphia Opera Company. He shared the stage with Roman Polanski in Amadeus and won the Jury Prize at the Cannes International Theatre Festival for his comedy solo Nice Night for an Evening.
His work has been seen on programmes such as Just For Laughs in Montreal, and circuses including Roncalli in Germany, the Big Apple Circus in New York and Cirque du Soleil offered him long-term contracts. He received the Silver Clown Award at the Monte Carlo International Circus Festival and teaches across Europe, leading a clown workshop on comedy, improvisation and stage rhythm. The performance is on Thursday 8 October 2026 from 20:30 to 21:30 at Teatro Cine Realejos in Los Realejos.
