Octave of the Cristo: Mass and procession along the customary routeverified
The Octave is the procession that closes the fiestas, eight days after the main day. It sets out at eight in the evening with the Venerated Image along the customary route, and is noticeably quieter than the one on the 14th: fewer people, less protocol, and for many in La Laguna the one that really matters.
On Monday 21 September 2026 at 20:00 the Octave of the Cristo is celebrated with a Mass and the procession of the Venerated Image of the SantĂsimo Cristo de La Laguna along the customary route.
The Octave falls eight days after the main day and closes the religious part of the fiestas. It is quieter than the procession of 14 September, with less protocol and fewer outsiders. The municipal programme does not detail the route, saying only that it is the customary one: if you are going to watch and you are not from here, it is worth asking at the sanctuary. At 23:00 the Octave fireworks are launched and the fiestas are closed.
