The play tells the story of a Canarian nurse who arrives in El Aaiún in 1970 intending to work temporarily at the local hospital. Her life changes radically when she falls in love with Yahadih, a young Sahrawi who joins the Polisario Front in the struggle for the independence of Western Sahara, and that relationship, marked by secrecy and war, makes her a witness to the withdrawal of Spain, the Moroccan occupation and the repression suffered by the Sahrawi people.
In 1991, in the refugee camps, she receives a visit from Mercedes, a journalism student who wants to document the conflict, and through their conversation she relives her time in a territory shaped by uncertainty, resistance and loss. With its mixture of love, betrayal and resistance, it is a human testimony about the personal transformation of a woman caught between two worlds. The performance is on Sunday, 18 October 2026 at 19:00 at the Auditorio Capitol in Tacoronte, for adult audiences and with free admission.
