Marina Marroquí: Generation porn, how do we educate to protect them?verified

Culture · Gratis

Social educator Marina Marroquí, a specialist in gender violence, speaks in Arrecife about children seeing pornography from around the age of 10 and what it leads to, with guidance for families and teachers on up-to-date relationships and sex education: prevent, detect and support. Saturday 7 November 2026, 18:00, Salón de Actos del Cabildo Insular. 90 minutes; free, limited capacity.

Children are coming across pornography at ever younger ages, and it is changing how some children and teenagers learn about sexuality, relationships and emotions. In this talk, Marina Marroquí looks at consumption starting around the age of 10, at how hard it can be to recognise certain kinds of sexual violence, and at the impact of learning about sex through pornography. The focus is on tools: guidance for families and education professionals to prevent, detect and support. Marroquí is a social educator, gender-violence specialist, communicator and writer, author of books such as Eso no es Amor and Eso no es Sexo, and has run prevention workshops for more than 500,000 young people.

The talk is on Saturday 7 November 2026 at 18:00 at the Salón de Actos del Cabildo Insular in Arrecife and lasts 90 minutes. Admission is free, with limited capacity. A free play area for children aged 2 to 10 is available, with 30 places and advance registration at administracion@ifalanzarote.com or on 660 73 26 36.
