Les jardins du paradis and Promis le ciel at the 12th Casa África Film Showcaseverified
On Thursday 8 October at 18:00, the Casa África Film Showcase closes at the Museo Elder with Les jardins du paradis, best short film at the African Film Festival of Tarifa and Tangier, set on the outskirts of Casablanca, and Promis le ciel, awarded best film, about an Ivorian pastor living in Tunisia. On Thursday 8 October at 18:00, the programme shows Les jardins du paradis (16 minutes, in Darija), in which Naima and her 11-year-old son Ahmed must leave their shanty town outside Casablanca and only the long-missing father can sign the school transfer, and Promis le ciel (92 minutes, in French and Arabic), about Marie, an Ivorian pastor and former journalist whose home in Tunisia becomes a refuge for other women. Both with Spanish subtitles.
The 12th Casa África Film Showcase runs from 6 to 8 October 2026 at the Museo Elder de la Ciencia y la Tecnología in Parque de Santa Catalina, with one screening a day at 18:00. It brings together documentary, fiction and drama by filmmakers from Africa and its diaspora, in collaboration with the Cinenómada programme of the African Film Festival of Tarifa and Tangier (FCAT). Admission is free, with limited seating.
