In January 1990 César Manrique stopped over in New York on his way to emergency surgery for a detached retina. He had six hours in the city. Concha de Ganso reconstructs that episode in a documentary that gets its first screening here, with testimony from Eduardo Manrique, Pepe Dámaso, Elvireta Escobio, Waldo Díaz Balart and the doctor Alfredo Matallana.

The evening does not stop at the screening: Samuel Aguilar and Beni Ferrer, who wrote the main theme of the documentary, play it live. The project came out of the 2025 cultural projects call of the Centros de Arte, Cultura y Turismo de Lanzarote, who also organise the event. It starts on 4 September at 20:00 at the Auditorio de los Jameos del Agua, it suits all audiences, and entry is free with an invitation.
