José Luis Besada, “Música y arquitectura”: #endiálogo talk of the Festival Contemporáneo at the RACBAverified

A talk with musicologist and communicator José Luis Besada on music and architecture, part of the #endiálogo series of the 6th Festival Contemporáneo, at the Real Academia Canaria de Bellas Artes de San Miguel Arcángel (RACBA) in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The session is linked to the concerts of Ensemble Sonido Extremo and belongs to the RACBA’s Ciclo Architecta Música. Thursday 8 October at 19:00, free entry.

The #endiálogo series of the Festival Contemporáneo brings together outreach talks by speakers from different disciplines on their relationship with music, conceived as an open space for reflection and exchange; every session is tied to one of the festival’s concerts. In this one, musicologist José Luis Besada talks about music and architecture, in connection with the concerts of Ensemble Sonido Extremo and within the Ciclo Architecta Música organised by the RACBA. Besada holds a higher music degree from the RCSMM, a degree in mathematics from the UCM and a master’s in arts from Paris 8; after his doctorate he held postdoctoral contracts at IRCAM and the Université de Strasbourg, and since 2020 he has been a researcher at the UCM on a Ramón y Cajal contract. Since 2017 he has worked with Radio Clásica, taking part in two weekly broadcasts on contemporary music, “Música viva” and “Miramondo multiplo”.

The talk takes place on Thursday 8 October 2026 at 19:00 at the Real Academia Canaria de Bellas Artes de San Miguel Arcángel, Plaza de Ireneo González 1, Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Admission is free.
