Jornada de Observación Solar, Eclipse Solar, Talleres, Perseidas y Observación de Cielo Profundoverified
The Museums Service of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura runs a day of astronomy outreach at the Poblado de La Atalayita archaeological site, open to all audiences. The programme combines solar observation, tracking of the partial solar eclipse, workshops and, once night falls, viewing of the Perseids and of deep sky objects. Every participant is given solar viewing glasses that carry CE certification. Entry is free.
The day is organised by the Museums Service of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura and takes place at the Poblado de La Atalayita archaeological site, in the municipality of Antigua. It is an astronomy outreach activity open to all audiences, whatever their age or previous experience.
The programme brings together solar observation, tracking of the partial solar eclipse, workshops and, once night falls, viewing of the Perseids and of deep sky objects. Every participant is given solar viewing glasses that carry CE certification. The organisers work alongside astronomy specialists and use scientific equipment, among it a professional Lunt 130 mm solar telescope with Hydrogen Alpha filtering. Entry is free.
