The ninth Isla de La Palma international chess tournament, subtitled Jugando con las Estrellas, brings one of its public sessions to the Plaza Los Álamos in Breña Alta, with Rey Enigma taking part. It is one of the new features of this edition, designed to take chess out of the playing hall.
The tournament runs from 5 to 16 August, with the official competition from the 7th to the 14th, and gathers around a hundred players from fifteen countries. It is organised by Sodepal and the Centro Insular de Ajedrez de La Palma. Breña Alta lies on the eastern side of the island, next to Santa Cruz de La Palma.
