Opening of Luz de isla, an exhibition of watercolours by Iulia Gupalo, who works under the artist name GUPALEVA. The opening is on Friday 9 October at 19:00 in the Sala de Exposiciones of El Sauzal; the show runs until 25 October. Free admission.
Luz de isla brings together watercolours by Iulia Gupalo, born in 1992, known by the artist name GUPALEVA and living in Tenerife since 2013. Trained in the classical Russian academic tradition, where rigorous drawing and technical precision form the basis of her painting, she has turned since her move to the island towards a more sensory and contemporary exploration of the land, shaped by the volcanic landscape and the changing Atlantic light. Through the Gupaleva project she treats landscape not as a decorative image but as lived experience, focusing on atmosphere, spatial rhythm and the tension between structure and emotion.
The exhibition is shown in the Sala de Exposiciones of El Sauzal, opposite the steps of the town hall, and can be visited until Sunday 25 October, Wednesday to Sunday from 18:00 to 20:00, with free admission. The opening is on Friday 9 October 2026, at 19:00.
