II Desafío Boquín Vertical Race, a vertical run from the old town of Icod de los Vinosverified
The second edition of this vertical mountain race in Icod de los Vinos covers about 3 km and roughly 500 metres of climb, from Calle San Sebastián, opposite the town hall, to the finish by the antennas on the Los Pajares track, passing through the Parque del Drago and the hamlet of Boquín. Organised by Club Deportivo Calce Team Trail, with individual starts every 30 seconds and a limit of 200 runners.
The Desafío Boquín Vertical Race reaches its second edition with a single format: a vertical mountain race of about 3 km with roughly 500 metres of positive elevation gain. It is organised by Club Deportivo Calce Team Trail with the support of Icod de los Vinos town council and volunteers. The route leaves Calle San Sebastián, passes Plaza de La Pila and Calle El Barranco, enters the Parque del Drago, follows the Camino Real trail to the hamlet of Boquín, runs past the Ruy Blas washhouses, crosses the TF-366 road and finishes on the open ground by the relay antennas on the Los Pajares track. New for 2026 are categories for the best local man and woman, and the prize for the Strava sector returns, kept secret until race day; the top three men and women overall receive 120, 80 and 50 €.
The race takes place on Saturday 10 October 2026. The first runner sets off at 8:30 from Calle San Sebastián, opposite the town hall, with the others following one by one every 30 seconds; the time limit is three hours, until 11:30, and the prize-giving is planned for around 11:30 or 12:00. There are 200 places for adults and for young people from 14 with parental or guardian consent. The entry fee for runners is 15 € plus handling costs, and registration closes on 4 October.
