The comedian himself explains that the pause was not caused by going far away but by staying and thinking, perhaps too much, and that between heavy swells, crosswinds and the odd inner drama he reached a simple conclusion: taking life very seriously is exhausting, while laughing at it a little heals. The performance is built on that idea, framed as a return with less weight, more humour and the same need to make people laugh.
