Santa María Reina de Fátima Festivities 2026 in La Playaverified
Five days of festivities in the Plaza de San Pedro, La Playa: tournaments, mass and procession, dances and a communal tuna lunch on Sunday.
Valle Gran Rey celebrates the festivities in honour of Santa María Reina de Fátima from 19 to 23 August, in the Plaza de San Pedro in La Playa. The programme mixes religious events with sport, music and food.
Saturday 22 is the centrepiece: mass at eight in the evening, and afterwards the image is carried in procession through the usual streets, accompanied by chácaras and drums.
Sunday closes with the traditional lunch, tuna in boiled mojo with stewed potatoes, on sale from two in the afternoon at three euros, followed by the closing festival.
Organised by the San Pedro, San Pablo y Fátima festival committee and Valle Gran Rey town hall.
Wednesday 19, 19:00: decorating the streets and square. Friday 21, 18:00: Canarian bowls tournament; 22:30: dance with Orquesta Amanecer de La Gomera and Orquesta Gomera. Saturday 22, 12:00: first Santa María Reina de Fátima tournament (CD Los Santos Reyes v CD Mensajero de La Palma); 20:00: mass and procession with chácaras and drums; 22:30: dance with Orquesta Dorada Band and Grupo Sabor. Sunday 23, 10:30: children's party with games and bouncy castles; 11:00: cooking of the traditional lunch (tuna in boiled mojo with stewed potatoes), on sale from 14:00 at €3; 18:00: closing festival with DJ Dailos Di Marco, Hijos del Silbo and Grupo Stereogroove.
