Fiestas del Socorro 2026 (Breña Baja): XIV Romería de El Socorro, baile de magos y auto marianoverified
The big day: the romería down from San Antonio, the offering to the Virgin, the magos dance and a midnight Marian play.
El Socorro is a coastal neighbourhood of Breña Baja, in the east of La Palma. Its fiestas run from 27 to 31 August, with the novena days continuing until 6 September. The best known act is the Romería de El Socorro, which comes down from the old quarter of San Antonio.
The fourteenth Romería de El Socorro sets off from the old quarter of San Antonio along the Tonolero track. Taking part are the Bailarines de El Norte group (El Hierro), the parranda Chigadá (La Gomera), the parranda Las Muchachas (Tenerife), the parranda Kal y Canto (Gran Canaria) and, from Tegueste, «El Barco Tradicional». It ends with the offering to the Virgen del Socorro.
At midnight comes the second Auto Mariano on the iconography of the Virgen del Socorro, with the dance and pyrotechnic appearance of the Gato Belial, carnival heads and giants, and the help of the Breña Baja theatre school.
