Fiestas del Carmen (Playa Blanca)

Playa Blanca, in the municipality of Yaiza, celebrates the festivities of the Virgen del Carmen with its main day around 16 July. The image is carried in procession through the town's streets accompanied by the municipal band and the port's fishermen and, after leaving the quay, the maritime procession begins, in which a large fleet of decorated boats, fishing vessels and sailboats escorts the patron saint along Lanzarote's south coast. The programme includes concerts with island orchestras, family activities, water sports, traditional games and open-air dances. The final programme is published on yaiza.es in the weeks before 16 July.
