Fiestas del Carmen de La Bajita 2026: misa, embarque de la Virgen del Carmen y fin de fiestasverified

Festivals & Pilgrimages · Entrada libre

The main day: mass, the Virgen del Carmen taken out to sea, the procession, and the close with trophies and a raffle.

La Bajita is a neighbourhood of Villa de Mazo, in the east of La Palma, and its fiestas in honour of the Virgen del Carmen run from 31 August to 6 September. They are organised by the AA.VV. Ntra. Señora del Carmen La Bajita, with Villa de Mazo town hall and the Cabildo of La Palma. The feel is a seafaring one, as befits the patron saint.

The mass in honour of Ntra. Sra. del Carmen is at six in the evening. The Virgin is then taken out on a boat and, on her arrival, the procession follows the usual route, accompanied by the Jerónimo Saavedra Acevedo municipal music school band of Villa de Mazo. It ends with the tableau vivant in honour of the Virgin.

The day had started at eleven with bouncy castles run by Encantos Mágicos, and the fiestas close at ten at night with the championship trophies and the raffle of the pig and the demijohn of wine.

Sunday 6 September 2026: 11:00 bouncy castles by Encantos Mágicos. 18:00 mass in honour of Ntra. Sra. del Carmen; then the Virgin is taken out on a boat and, on arrival, the procession follows the usual route with the Jerónimo Saavedra Acevedo municipal music school band of Villa de Mazo, ending with the tableau vivant. 22:00 close of the fiestas with the championship trophies and the raffle of the pig and the demijohn of wine.
