Fiestas del Carmen de La Bajita 2026: cuentacuentos, ginkana y verbenaverified
A full day: storytelling and dancing in the morning, a paired gymkhana in the afternoon and a dance at night.
La Bajita is a neighbourhood of Villa de Mazo, in the east of La Palma, and its fiestas in honour of the Virgen del Carmen run from 31 August to 6 September. They are organised by the AA.VV. Ntra. Señora del Carmen La Bajita, with Villa de Mazo town hall and the Cabildo of La Palma. The feel is a seafaring one, as befits the patron saint.
The morning starts with storytelling for children on the square, continues with the Bajitumba, a guided dance class, and a bodycombat session led by Luís R. González, for which you need sports clothes and water.
In the afternoon pairs register for the gymkhana, first the children's one (ages 5 to 12) and then the adult one (13 and up). The night ends with a dance.
Saturday 5 September 2026: 11:00 storytelling for children on the square. 12:00 Bajitumba, guided dance class. 12:45 bodycombat with Luís R. González (bring sports clothes and water). 17:30 registration for the paired gymkhana. 18:00 children's gymkhana (ages 5 to 12), then the adult gymkhana (13 and up). 22:00 dance with the bands Joven Sensación, DJ T3nax and Grupo Acuarela.
