La Encarnación and La Manzana Festivities 2026verified

Festivals & Pilgrimages

From 26 September to 18 October, Valleseco holds the Fiestas de La Encarnación y de La Manzana, listed as a Regional Festival of Tourist Interest. Almost a month of folklore, livestock, food, theatre, romería and zarzuela, with the apple and farming as the common thread. It opens with the first Regional Folklore Fair and closes with the 14th International Zarzuela Competition. The programme comes from a press report, so it is worth confirming.

Valleseco devotes almost a month to what defines it best: apples, farming and celebration. The Fiestas de La Encarnación y de La Manzana, listed as a Regional Festival of Tourist Interest, officially start on 26 September and run until 18 October, with folklore, livestock, food, music, theatre and comedy spread between the Plaza Municipal, the Área Recreativa de La Laguna and the municipal auditorium. The thread running through all of it is the defence of farming and of local identity, which here is not rhetoric, since apples and cattle are still real economy. Treat the calendar as provisional: the information comes from a newspaper report circulated by the local radio station rather than from a council announcement, and as of 14 September the Ayuntamiento had not published the 2026 programme, so dates and times may change.

The opening is on Saturday 26 September with the first Regional Folklore Fair of Valleseco, which brings together crafts, traditional dance, music, verseadores, Canarian games, Silbo Canario (the whistled language of the islands) and performances by folk groups and parrandas, and which ends with a baile de taifas, the traditional form in which couples take turns on the floor while the parranda plays. The 12th Premios Manzana de Oro are presented the same day, this year to the parents association of the Juntos por Ell@s occupational centre. Sunday 27 September brings the Day of Traditions and Customs with the Grand Livestock Fair, at 10:00 at the Área Recreativa de La Laguna. Sunday 4 October holds the 2nd Sabor y Tradición Fair, at 10:00 in the Plaza Municipal, and the 52nd Romería-Ofrenda to Nuestra Señora de La Encarnación, from 18:30. October also adds WuateLuz 2026 Felipe Juan and the theatre project Entre Versos y Arena, which fuses flamenco and theatre and highlights the work of women artists. The closing event is the 14th International Zarzuela Competition, with the preliminary round on 17 October and the final on 18 October, both at the Auditorio Dr. Juan Díaz Rodríguez. The source gives no time for the folklore fair, for the Manzana de Oro ceremony or for the zarzuela sessions, and neither date nor time for WuateLuz and Entre Versos y Arena.
