El Castillo festivities 2026 in Caleta de Fuste, in honour of Nuestra Señora de la Peña del Marverified
Caleta de Fuste, in the municipality of Antigua (Fuerteventura), celebrates the El Castillo festivities in honour of Nuestra Señora de la Peña del Mar from 8 to 11 October. There is an opening speech on Thursday, music every night on the Plaza de El Castillo, a rowing regatta and batucadas on Saturday, and on Sunday mass and a sea-and-land procession at the harbour. Market every day.
For four days the Peña del Mar festivities fill the Plaza de El Castillo in Caleta de Fuste with music, tradition and activities for all ages. According to the council it is a well-established fiesta in this resort town, attended by residents and tourists alike, and this year the traditional rowing-boat regatta returns. Organised by Antigua council's festivities department and the El Castillo festival committee.
Highlights: Thursday 8, 19:00 parade with the Batucada Calemba, 20:00 opening speech and 21:30 El Callao; Friday 9, 9:30 to 13:00 display by the Guardia Civil, local police, Canary police and civil protection, 17:00 to 19:00 children's party and music from 20:00 until midnight; Saturday 10, 21st deep-sea fishing tournament, 12:00 13th rowing-boat regatta at the harbour, 17:30 first FuerteRetumbe batucada meeting and a dance; Sunday 11, 10:00 mass and sea-and-land procession, 11:30 water party, 12:00 5th rowing memorial and 16:00 closing party. All events are on the Plaza de El Castillo unless stated otherwise; market open every day. The organisers reserve the right to change or cancel any event for reasons of force majeure.
