Benijos Village Fiestas 2026verified

Benijos is a high hamlet of La Orotava, and its fiestas keep the farming character of the area. For ten days in September the village honours San Isidro Labrador and Santa María de la Cabeza with a programme that alternates country events with dance nights. Two days stand out: Saturday the 12th, with the livestock fair and the threshing display, and Sunday the 13th, with the great romería coming down from Lomo Alto to the square.

Full programme. Thursday 10, 20:00 children's queen and mister gala. Friday 11, 11:00 clay pigeon shoot and 20:30 adult queen gala. Saturday 12, 10:00 livestock fair and craft fair, 11:30 threshing display, 12:00 open-air mass, 13:30 women's goat-milking championship, 14:00 ring-tilting with mule and pony races, 17:00 log-splitting and 21:00 dance. Sunday 13, 14:00 the great romería from Lomo Alto down to the square. Monday 14, 15:00 bicycle ring-tilting and sack race, 16:00 motorbike and quad ring-tilting, 18:00 mass and procession towards Las Rosas with fireworks, churros with chocolate and a dance. Tuesday 15, 13:00 ring-tilting and horse race and 21:00 dance. Wednesday 16, elders' day, 16:30 folk festival and paella. Thursday 17, 17:00 children's festival, 18:00 surprise act and 21:30 dance. Friday 18, 16:00 traditional games, 17:00 interclub display, 19:00 surprise act and 21:30 dance. Saturday 19, 10:00 children's day and pericones card championship, 17:00 closing feast, 20:00 handover to the next committee and the final dance. The fiesta committee reserves the right to change or cancel any event for reasons beyond its control, giving notice to residents beforehand.
