Fiesta del Humo in La Rambla: torchlit descent of Las Pencas with the Parranda La Limeraverified
The Fiesta del Humo is part of the Fiestas de La Rambla 2026 in honour of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, in San Juan de la Rambla. On Saturday 10 October at 18:30 the descent of the Las Pencas path begins from the shore of La Vera; at the Molino the torches, known as hachos, are lit and the Parranda La Limera accompanies the walk down. In the square, the festival committee treats everyone to a big paella.
The Fiesta del Humo is part of the Fiestas de La Rambla 2026, which the neighbourhood celebrates from 3 to 17 October in honour of Nuestra Señora del Rosario. In his greeting in the programme, the mayor describes it as “a singular celebration” that has become “one of the great symbols of La Rambla”. It is organised by San Juan de la Rambla town council, and a bus will take participants to the start of the path from the usual pick-up points.
The descent follows the Las Pencas path from the shore of La Vera. When the walkers reach the Molino, the torches known as hachos are lit and the Parranda La Limera accompanies the way down; on arrival in the square, the festival committee treats everyone to a big paella. The descent starts on Saturday 10 October 2026 at 18:30.
