Fiesta de la Virgen del Carmen (Morro Jable)
One of Fuerteventura's most popular Carmen festivals, from 3 to 16 July, with the main day and sea procession on the 16th.
Morro Jable, in the municipality of Pajara in southern Fuerteventura, celebrates its Fiestas del Carmen from 3 to 16 July 2026, in honour of the sailors' patron saint. The programme blends tradition, culture and music: on 9 July the Floro Soloists' Meeting; on the 10th the pilgrimage-offering (18:00) with the naming of the Sailors' Godmother; on the 11th a concert by Tito el Bambino (22:30); on the 12th the traditional sailors' barbecue (13:00) and a concert by Mojinos Escozios (23:30); on the 13th a comedy night; on the 14th the intimate candlelit Suspiros del Carmen at the Ermita de San Miguel; and on the 15th Daniel Calero and the naming of the Queen of Carmen. The main day, 16 July, features a dawn floral reveille, religious service and the land and maritime processions: the image is taken from the church to Sebada beach, embarks and sails the bay accompanied by many vessels sounding their horns in gratitude for the patron's protection.
