Canarian neighbourhood fiestas usually have a themed night, and in Santa Bárbara the Thursday one is beer. The line-up mixes the foreign and the local: La Chalana play a tribute to the Mexican band Maná, alongside them Los Vándalos, and Dj Alex Navarro closes with the Puretas Party.
The day starts earlier: children's activities at 10:00, a mechanical bull contest for adults at 16:00 and mass at 18:00. The beer festival itself begins at 19:00.
It is a good illustration of how a neighbourhood fiesta works: the same space moves from the morning children's programme to the afternoon mass to the night-time verbena, without ever changing location.
