Encuentros con el Patrimonio: talk on the architectural legacy of Betancuriaverified
A talk titled "El legado arquitectónico de Betancuria. Huellas de una memoria protegida", part of the Encuentros con el Patrimonio series run by the Cultural Heritage Service. The authors of the Betancuria heritage catalogue explain the value of the town's built heritage: building types, construction techniques and materials. Thursday 29 October at 19:00 in the Archivo General Insular, Puerto del Rosario. Free.
As part of the Encuentros con el Patrimonio series, promoted by the Cultural Heritage Service, this talk looks at traditional architecture through the people who drew up the Catálogo Patrimonial de Betancuria. Drawing on the work behind that tool for protection and knowledge, the speakers share the keys to understanding the historical, architectural and ethnographic value of the town's built heritage: its building types, construction techniques, materials and the way it adapts to its surroundings.
The session also covers why it matters to identify, document and protect this legacy, an essential part of Betancuria's identity and of the collective memory of Fuerteventura. It takes place in the Archivo General Insular, Calle Lucha Canaria 83, Puerto del Rosario, and is free of charge. Thursday 29 October 2026, at 19:00.
