Intercultural gathering: San Miguel de Abona and Hatillo, Puerto Ricoverified

On Sunday 20 September 2026 at 13:00, the Casino de San Miguel hosts a gathering between San Miguel de Abona and Hatillo, in Puerto Rico. It is one of those events that explain the historical link between the Canaries and the Caribbean in person, and it is done with live music from both sides.

The Puerto Rican troubadours Omar Santiago, Roberto Silva and Shamira Santiago perform, with musicians Christian Nieves, Modesto Nieves, Raúl Maldonado and Monika Nieves, and on the Canarian side the Guargazal folk group. A practical note about the venue: the Casino building does not appear on open maps, so the map point is on calle Casino, in the old town, about two hundred metres from the church.
