Elvira Perejón: What if it isn't bad behaviour? Another look at neurodiversityverified
Teacher and neuroeducator Elvira Perejón gives a practical talk in Arrecife that brings neurodiversity into families' everyday life: executive functions, emotional regulation and ways of supporting children and teenagers. Saturday 17 October 2026, 18:00, at the Salón de Actos del Cabildo Insular. 90 minutes; free admission, limited capacity, free children's play area.
What happens when what we read as bad behaviour is really a need, a difficulty with self-regulation or a different way of processing the world around? Elvira Perejón starts from familiar situations to explain what may lie behind certain behaviours in brains that work differently, and covers how the brain works, executive functions, emotional regulation and individual needs. Her aim is to swap the question "why does he or she act like this?" for a more useful one: "what might they need?". Perejón is a teacher, neuroeducator and specialist in neurodivergence and digital wellbeing, founder of Educación Incondicional and author of Educar con cerebro.
The talk is on Saturday 17 October 2026 at 18:00 at the Salón de Actos del Cabildo Insular in Arrecife and lasts 90 minutes. Admission is free, with limited capacity. A free play area for children aged 2 to 10 runs during the session, with 30 places and advance registration at administracion@ifalanzarote.com or on 660 73 26 36.
