Friday is the day El Molledo really shifts into festival mode, and it starts early: at seven in the morning the Tamatimba drum band goes through the streets with the diana floreada, among rockets and pealing bells. In the evening, at seven, comes the weightiest act of the day, the extraordinary reception of the images from the mother church of San Fernando Rey. There is an offering of flowers and food, and what is collected goes to the parish for the families who need it most. A documentary about the history of these festivities is also screened. At nine the Gran Latinazo begins, with four acts back to back.
