AstroLaPalma guided experience on 12 August 2026 to watch the partial solar eclipse and, after nightfall, the Perseid meteor shower under La Palma's dark sky.
On 12 August 2026 the sky over La Palma offers a rare combination: in the late afternoon a partial solar eclipse takes place, with around 75% of the solar disc covered by the Moon as seen from the island. Organised by AstroLaPalma with Starlight-certified guides, the experience begins at 17:30 with safe eclipse observation using certified glasses and an astronomical interpretation of the phenomenon.
After nightfall the group walks to a dark observation spot (an approximately 4 km round-trip) to watch the Perseids and learn to identify constellations with binoculars. Places are limited and early booking is recommended at the AstroLaPalma office in Los Cancajos.
