The round table, chaired by Isidoro Hernández, revisits her professional career and her contribution to knowledge of the island's archaeological heritage. The Cabildo de Fuerteventura holds a tribute to Dolores Sánchez Velázquez on the occasion of the handover of the papers relating to the first excavations carried out at the archaeological site of the Cueva de Villaverde. Those papers remained in the archaeologist's keeping and are now given to the Cabildo by her family after her death, so that they can be preserved and studied.
The round table is chaired by Isidoro Hernández, director of the Museo Arqueológico de Fuerteventura, with Teresa Gómez Espinosa, art historian and archaeologist of the Spanish state museum curators' corps, the archaeologists Ángel Sánchez Hortelano and Rosa López Guerrero, and Antigua Sánchez Velázquez on behalf of the family. The event takes place at the Museo Arqueológico de Fuerteventura in Betancuria on Wednesday 23 September 2026 at 19:00, with free admission.
