Día Grande of the Virgen del Rosario in Hermigua: procession with chácaras and drumsverified
Sunday 4 October is the Día Grande de la Virgen of the Rosario festivities in Hermigua, La Gomera. At 12:00 the parish church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán holds a Holy Mass sung by the parish choir, after which the procession follows its customary route to the sound of chácaras and drums. A tribute of faith, a large shared meal in the square and a dance until 22:00 follow.
The Día Grande de la Virgen is the main day of the Nuestra Señora del Rosario festivities in Hermigua. It begins with a Holy Mass in honour of the Virgin, sung by the parish choir, after which the procession sets off along its customary route, accompanied by chácaras and drums. On its return to the parish church, a tribute of faith is held.
Afterwards there is a large shared meal in the square and a dance with the group Amanecer de La Gomera until 22:00. The Mass is held at the parish church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán in Hermigua on Sunday 4 October 2026 at 12:00.
