San Pedro González Telmo day in Sardina: religious service, procession and the saints taken out into the bayverified
The main day of the fiestas is Sunday 27 September: at 11:00 the solemn religious service in honour of San Pedro González Telmo and Nuestra Señora del Carmen is held at the ermita de San Telmo. The procession then sets out along the customary route, accompanied by a chamber music band, and on reaching the quay the images are traditionally taken out by boat around the bay.
The Fiestas de Sardina del Norte 2026, in honour of San Pedro González Telmo and Nuestra Señora del Carmen, run in Gáldar, in the north of Gran Canaria, from 1 September to 3 October, organised by the Asociación de Vecinos San Pedro González Telmo and the Comisión de Fiestas with the Ayuntamiento de Gáldar. Sunday 27 September is the main day of the programme, with the religious service, the procession and the images going out into the bay.
The day begins at 11:00 with the solemn religious service at the ermita de San Telmo. When it ends the procession sets out along the customary route, accompanied by a chamber music band. Once the procession reaches the quay comes the embarcación de los Santos, the sea procession in which the images travel around the bay. The official programme fixes neither the return time nor the length of the sea route.
