Festivals & Pilgrimages

The float parade sets off on Sunday 27 September at 18:00 from the front of the Asociación de Vecinos, within the fiestas in honour of San Pedro González Telmo and Nuestra Señora del Carmen. It is accompanied by stilt walkers, the Muñecotes music band and the Piratas del Caribe batucada. At the end of the route comes the flower battle on Avenida Antonio Rosas and then the afternoon party with live music.

The Sardina del Norte district of Gáldar holds its fiestas in honour of San Pedro González Telmo and Nuestra Señora del Carmen from 1 September to 3 October, with the Asociación de Vecinos San Pedro González Telmo, the Comisión de Fiestas and the Ayuntamiento de Gáldar behind the programme. The afternoon of Sunday 27 links three events in the district.

The parade starts at 18:00 along Jiménez Díaz, Cronista Martín Moreno, Hermanos Rodríguez Batllori, Américo Vespucio, Daoiz y Velarde, Alcalá Galiano, José Verdi, the Carretera de Botija and Avenida Antonio Rosas, with stilt walkers, the Muñecotes band and the Piratas del Caribe batucada. The parade is open to anyone with their own papagüevos, the traditional big heads. The flower battle follows, with balls made in the September neighbourhood workshops, and then the afternoon party with music by Hamburguesería Invítame.
