Chichon conducts Shostakovich and Mussorgsky - Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria - Subscription Concert 5verified

Violinist Sergej Krylov returns to Gran Canaria for a Russian programme under the baton of Karel Mark Chichon. Krylov plays Shostakovich's Violin Concerto No. 1, a kaleidoscope of emotions ranging from melancholy and irony to extreme virtuosity, set against the threatening background of the Stalinist regime.
The second work is Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition in Maurice Ravel's orchestration. This is the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra's fifth subscription concert.
