Ribbon raceverified
On Thursday 17 September at 18:00 the ribbon race is run along Calle del Centro. It is a traditional contest in which riders try to hook a ring or a ribbon as they pass, and one of the events that takes the fiestas out into the street. The Santa LucĂa fiestas in El Puertillo are those of a seafaring neighbourhood of Arucas, and the programme mixes religious acts, games, sport and music until 27 September. The fiesta committee reserves the right to change or cancel any event.
