Journalist and writer Berna González-Harbour talks at the Festival de literatura de Lanzarote about how fiction helps us understand the conflicts of our time: memory, truth and ethical dilemmas, in a body of work that moves between crime fiction and literary narrative. Berna González-Harbour will talk about how literature can help us understand the conflicts of our time, using fiction to explore the memory, truth and ethical dilemmas running through today's society. The conversation, moderated by writer Carlos Battaglini, director of the Festival de literatura de Lanzarote, will cover her career, the relationship between journalism and fiction, and the role of literature in interpreting reality. A journalist and writer, she is the author of novels including «Verano en rojo», «Margen de error», «El sueño de la razón» and «Qué fue de los Lighthouse», received the Premio Dashiell Hammett and is a columnist and analyst at El País.

The conversation takes place at the Centro Cívico El Fondeadero, Calle Lanzarote 1, in Puerto del Carmen (Tías). It is organised by the Asociación Cultural Picón Narrativas. Admission is free with prior registration at www.fdll.es. The talk is on Tuesday 20 October 2026 at 19:30.
