The Batalla de Flores fills the streets of old Guía with petals on the afternoon of the main day, one of the symbols of this festival.
The Batalla de Flores is, together with the papagüevos and the float parade, the most recognisable image of the Fiestas de la Virgen in Guía. People throw flowers and petals at each other along Médico Estévez and Marqués del Muni until the ground is covered.
It starts at 19:00, after the Carrera de Cintas. It is a free street event and very photogenic, though it is better not to wear clothes you care about.
