The Bajada de la Rama is one of Gran Canaria's most crowded festivals, held every 4 August in Agaete as the prelude to the main day of the Fiestas de las Nieves. Thousands of people dance their way down from the town to Puerto de Las Nieves carrying branches of pine, heather, eucalyptus and laurel that they offer to the Virgen de las Nieves.
The day unfolds in three moments: the Diana at 05:00, the Rama at 10:00 and the Retreta at 22:00. It is a festival of ancient origin, freely open to all.
