Bajada de Carretones y Trikes down the Carretera del Faro in Sardinaverified
The Bajada de Carretones y Trikes takes place on Saturday 19 September at 12:00 on the Carretera del Faro, in the area of calle Numancia, within the fiestas in honour of San Pedro González Telmo and Nuestra Señora del Carmen. Carretones are home built carts without an engine that run down the road alongside the trikes. The descent is organised by C.D.T.M Galagagui.
The fiestas in honour of San Pedro González Telmo and Nuestra Señora del Carmen fill the calendar of Sardina del Norte, in Gáldar, from 1 September to 3 October, and are organised by the Asociación de Vecinos San Pedro González Telmo and the Comisión de Fiestas with the Ayuntamiento de Gáldar. On Saturday 19 September the Carretera del Faro gives way to the Bajada de Carretones y Trikes, the district's downhill event.
The descent starts at 12:00 in the area of calle Numancia and follows the line of the lighthouse road. Carretones, home built carts that roll without an engine, compete alongside trikes, in a run watched from the edges of the course. The event is organised by C.D.T.M Galagagui. The official programme publishes neither the list of participants nor the categories of the competition.
