AstroEscénicas brings four stage pieces about the sky to the Museo Insular de La Palma: constellation legends with astronomer Elena Nordio, storyteller María J. Batista and pianist Blanca Quevedo, the theatre piece Misión Maat, a journey into how our ancestors saw the sky, and a video mapping by the Escuela de Arte Manolo Blahnik. It lasts about an hour and a half and is part of AstroFest La Palma 2026. Limited capacity, free entry.

AstroEscénicas is an evening of about an hour and a half made up of four stage pieces. In Leyendas del cielo (Legends of the Sky), astronomer Elena Nordio introduces the constellations behind myths and legends and explains how to find them in the night sky, while actress and storyteller María J. Batista tells the stories and pianist Blanca Quevedo accompanies them with her music. Misión Maat, by Nicolás León and María Briceño, is a theatre piece inspired by a dystopia that blends art and science around the search for and rescue of astronomy, knowledge and nature.

In Viaje al pasado (Journey to the Past), storyteller and Starlight guide Antonio González gives a brief account of how our ancestors saw the sky. The programme is completed by a video mapping from the higher-level Audiovisual Graphics students of the Escuela de Arte Manolo Blahnik, an audiovisual production that travels through the sky and universe of La Palma. The evening is part of AstroFest La Palma 2026, held from 18 September to 24 October, and takes place at the Museo Insular de La Palma on Plaza de San Francisco in Santa Cruz de La Palma. Limited capacity, free entry. Wednesday 7 October 2026, at 20:30.
