It falls on the same day as the partial solar eclipse of 12 August, which starts in the late afternoon and appears low towards the west.
Part of the Fiestas del Risco 2026 in Los Ancones, the smallest village in the municipality of Teguise, in honour of Nuestra Señora de Candelaria and San Juan Bautista. Organised by the «Las Velas» residents' association with the support of Teguise town council.
