Achamán: Cuando el tiempo suena, 50 years of musicverified

Concerts

Achamán, a group born in 1976 in the Barrio Nuevo of La Laguna, marks 50 years with Cuando el tiempo suena, 50 años de música, a journey through its musical memory with isas, folías, malagueñas, seguidillas and Latin American popular music. It is also the title of the group's new album. Friday 23 October, at 20:30, at Teatro Leal in La Laguna, with numbered seats.

Achamán was born in 1976 in the Barrio Nuevo of La Laguna, when a group of young friends began meeting out of a shared passion for Canarian and Latin American popular music. With early support from Los Sabandeños they built an identity of their own that, five decades on, is still alive on stage. Their repertoire combines isas, folías, malagueñas and seguidillas with the popular music that links the Canaries with Venezuela, Cuba, Mexico and Argentina, and their records run from the first album, Achamán, to titles such as De Parranda, Confraternidad, Sin Distancia, Vivo, 40 años de amistad and Por amor.

Cuando el tiempo suena, 50 años de música travels through the group's songs, voices and the different generations of musicians who have been part of it, and shares its title with the new album, a meeting of past and present. The concert takes place at Teatro Leal in La Laguna, with numbered seating; tickets for reduced-mobility (PMR) seats are sold by phone or in person at the theatre box office. Friday 23 October 2026, at 20:30.
