12th "Rancho Grande" Baile de Taifa at the Santa Rita festivities in Arayaverified
On Friday 16 October at 21:00, the Plaza de Araya (Candelaria) opens the Santa Rita festivities with the 12th "Rancho Grande" Baile de Taifa, a traditional Canarian folk dance with the folk groups Idaira, Los Aceviños, the Parranda El Chaboco and Igonce. Traditional Canarian dress is required. It is coordinated by the Agrupación Folclórica Igonce. The Santa Rita festivities run from 16 to 25 October, and almost the whole programme takes place in the village square.
On Friday 16 October 2026 at 21:00, the Plaza de Araya hosts the 12th "Rancho Grande" Baile de Taifa, the event that opens the Santa Rita festivities. A baile de taifa is an evening of traditional Canarian dancing, with folk bands and groups playing live for the audience to dance to.
The folk groups Idaira, Los Aceviños, the Parranda El Chaboco and Igonce perform; Igonce also coordinates the evening. Traditional Canarian dress is required to take part. It is part of the 2026 Santa Rita festivities in Araya (Candelaria), running from 16 to 25 October and organised by the Araya festival committee with the support of the A.C. Chaxacoy.
